In 2016 Farmington Liquor Store profits in the amount of $10,000 were approved to fund the creation of a trail signage program and the purchase of benches.

The Commission had previously reviewed three different maps of trail loops in city parks.  At that time direction was given to move forward with working with a vendor to create draft signs for the trail loops.

After several months of work, the draft concept of a map sign showing the trail loop has been created by a sign vendor.  Included in your packet is a first draft design for the Jim Bell Park and Preserve trail sign.  Staff has provided feedback to the vendor about some additional revisions to be made to the first draft of the sign and hopes prior to the meeting packet being finalized, the revised sign will be received and can be included in the meeting packet.  If this does not occur, then the revised draft sign concept will be presented at the meeting if staff receives it from the vendor prior to the meeting. The Commission should review the draft concept of a trail sign and then provide feedback on any further revisions it would like to have made to the trail sign before the city moves forward with having the vendor produce the sign.
